The PS 30M Library affords all students the opportunity to borrow library books from its own 10,000 book collection of up-to-date fiction, non-fiction, early childhood and upper grade books.  In addition, the library program introduces students to information literacy skills through research using books and the library’s computers. Students also receive lessons in literature appreciation, and reading and writing skills most often based on their grade’s content curriculum in Social Studies and Science.

The PS 30M Library is one of a few school libraries in New York City that are part of a pilot project sharing the New York Public Libraries catalog. Our library receives a grant through the Fund for Public Schools and Target to sponsor a series of Family Reading Nights each year. The library has also received grants for books, computers, and other materials in the last few years.

Although an elementary library it is staffed by a full time, certified School Library Media Specialist. In addition to the main library holdings the PS 30M Library has a staff and parent collection.
